What is a Coat-of-Arms?

A coat of arms is a symbol like a logo that represents a specific family, a person, an organization, a congregation, a community or any group for that matter. Originally appearing on shields or flags, coat of arms were once used as a way of distinguishing one knight from another on a battlefield. The study, classification, and design of coats of arms is known as heraldry.

Ad Servitium Pauperum - means "to serve the poor", meaning serving not just the poor materially but those who are poor spiritually as well.

The 2 Green Pillars - The stronghold of MCIJ, the strength of each members comes from the Lord Jesus Christ the pillars of our faith.

The Crown - The infant Jesus; glories, Kingly yet humble, meek and obedient to the will of the Father symbolizes a leader yet humble servant.
​
MCIJ in colour green means hopeful Missionary Congregation of the Infant Jesus.

The Belen (Holy Family) - MCIJ's model family, the simple loving and nurturing family of Jesus Christ we follow.
​
The Lion and Axes - symbolizes courage, nobility, royalty, strength and valor of each MCIJ member.

Maroon or Sanguine in Heraldic name
- means patient in battles yet victorious

Green or Vert in Heraldic Name
- means Hope, Joy and Loyalty in Love

Gold/Yellow or Ore in Heraldic Name
- means MCIJ's Generosity in giving their time, resources, dedication and loyalty. The elevation of the heart and mind into faithful service in the Lord.

Silver or White or Argent in Heraldic Name

Light Blue or Azure in Heraldic Name
- means Truth and Loyalty

Black or Sable in Heraldic Name
- means constancy of grief for sins
